A. Most customers will have more than enough connectivity speed to never notice a difference between a messaging solution they manage themselves and one that is hosted.
Q. Won’t I have more control with an Exchange in-house solution?
A. Our easy to use web-based control panel gives you full, instant control of your email. While we take full responsibility for many of the day-to-day administrative functions like patching, security and data backup our customers use simple online administrative tools to control user accounts, manage quotas and folders. As a result, you retain control of the critical business components of the messaging solution while we focus on the underlying operations.
Q. How are my emails archived in Hosted Exchange?
A. Eclipse Hosted Exchange now uses a new integrated message archiving service. Eclipse archiving instantly and automatically stores and indexes all email messages in real time, covering both sent and received items from all users in the organisation.
Q. Does this cover me for legal and regulatory compliance?
A. Absolutely. Eclipse archiving works in real time, immediately capturing new messages thanks to the journaling feature of Exchange and other standards based email servers - so you know all message activity is backed up and logged. It can create a completely comprehensive archive solution to replace a current system by importing historical emails and PST files for a complete log.
Q. Can I still search and retrieve emails when I want to?
A. Yes, Eclipse archiving uses an immediate search and retrieval function. You shouldn’t notice any difference in speed or accessibility in finding historic messages. You can also select authorised users to access the search engine.
Q. How does Eclipse Archiving work?
A. Eclipse Archiving works through single-instance storage and message compression. The Energize Update function is the feature which takes care of virus protection for you and makes sure that policy definitions are kept updated. This function also offers added value – offering enhanced monitoring of compliance and corporate guidelines, protection against potential security vulnerabilities, plus the option to decode content within email attachments.
Q. Will I find it easy to use?
A. Eclipse Archiving is easy to use - you operate the archive through a simple web user interface or an outlook plug in which allows administrators to define, manage and control your corporate archive settings and rules from one central location.
