The Eclipse Bonded DSL solution uses an aggregated connection for all IP traffic.
What does this mean? Put simply, Eclipse have developed the Eclipse Bonded DSL Aggregator which merges all lines together to deliver optimum speeds. We don’t do what the some providers do – take the lowest speed line and use this speed for the combined speed.
Eclipse provide the required hardware, even if more than normal is required, at no additional cost.
Alternative providers offer different Bonded DSL solutions using multi-link point-to-point protocol (or MLPPP) which creates a single PPP from multiple links.
A single, specialist router is used, meaning a single point of failure within the solution. Traffic is capped to the on the lowest performing line so if it is a 2-line solution, the combined speed will be twice that of the line with the lowest performance. This is because each line is equally weighted. If at any stage a single link within the entire solution fails, connection has to be re-established to reinstate the failed line.
Additionally there are other options to deliver Bonded DSL including Load Balancing (offering multiple IPs, with no overall speed gain and less resilience) and Physically Bonding Lines (two lines sync as one to give twice the speed. However, if one line drops, the connection may be lost and the solution may need to be completely reconfigured).
We offer bonding of up to 4 standard ADSL lines, offering huge increases in speed. Start with just two lines, or opt straight for the max – Bonded DSL with Eclipse can really get your broadband speed moving, wherever you are.Check your speed now
Although the bonding process creates one single connection from your lines, it will automatically adjust to keep you connected even if one line fails. Rather than suffering from an inconsistent connection or no connection at all, if one line fails, the others will keep you online, giving you greater peace of mind.
We answer calls within 60 seconds and you won’t have to battle with a long automated system – we aim to get you through to a real person in minutes. Once you’re through, we fix 70% of problems then and there, and our expert staff don’t waste time with scripted questions - we’ll get straight onto your particular issue.
Provisioning is fast for Bonded DSL when compared to other high-speed services like Leased Lines. All we need is for you to have the physical phone lines already installed into your premises – then we’ll do all the rest within 10 working days. What’s more, you won’t lose service during the installation.
