not all service providers are the same
Some IT industry businesses are really making the most of an easy way to extra revenue offered by Eclipse Internet.
The Eclipse Referrer scheme allows customers to earn money by recommending services to friends or businesses. Referrers get paid, by cheque, per recommendation - and for some businesses it’s been a lucrative deal.
Roger Kallaway is Director of PC Doctor, an IT support company and thanks to Eclipse, has added more than £3,000 to the company coffers over the last few years. He says “I refer all my customers to Eclipse. I started using Eclipse myself, thanks to a referral from a friend, and no other broadband provider offered me an incentive like this when I started PC Doctor.”
“The cheques are a big bonus for us, as we can have weeks where we’re referring several customers a day. But the most important thing for me, is knowing that we’re recommending a really great service. If you’re in the trade, and spend every waking hour dealing with computer problems as we do, good support and excellent uptimes are essential. Most end users, however, just don’t care. My customers want to know things will work, and they don’t want to have to worry about it - and that’s why Eclipse is the provider we choose.”
The Eclipse Referrer scheme is available to any customer who can earn up to £30 referring a friend and up to £80 referring a business. Jason Patten, from IT company UserOne is a newcomer to referring but has netted £340 so far. He says “I choose to refer Eclipse because of its superior technical support - I get through to agents quicker and although earning the cash is a nice extra, the support side of Eclipse has more value to me than the money.”
That’s something Roger Kallaway from PC Doctor would agree with. “When I phone up Eclipse, my problems are sorted out. I know I won’t be sent half way around the world or given the run around by staff. Eclipse technical support know I’m an expert in my field and treat me like a professional - which makes working with them such a pleasure.”
“The service I get with Eclipse is even noted by some of my customers. Recently, I called on behalf of an elderly lady who had accidentally been billed with a bandwidth surcharge. It took less than an hour for Eclipse to work out what had gone wrong, and the customer was reimbursed within 8 days. She was so impressed, she actually came around to our offices with a case of wine for us. I can only imagine how difficult it would have been to persuade a larger ISP to even admit there was a problem, let alone solve it so quickly.”
